Effort and execution are never two sides of the same coin. You can work you azz off in practice, come to the game energized, and play with energy and still be crappy. You will not likely see execution without good effort.

Did you notice Ray Acosta runs up and down the court "out of bounds?" Marlin definitely 'had position'! He may have had one foot on the court but the ref was running up the sideline, 'out of bounds'. I noticed the ref on the other side of the court did not do this. He stayed on the court.
After Marlin took the 'charge', the head referee took charge, called a 'conference' and the call was "reduced" to a coach's box warning. I didn't know they had that in basketball. Maybe it was a bench warning. Anyway, I think after the next media timeout (8 min. mark of the first half?) the officials convened again. When play resumed the officials had switched sides and Acosta was on the media side of the court and the other official was on the team side. I think the head official helped that young official out of what could have been a very tense situation. Veteran move on his part. Acosta was back on the team side of the court in the second half. I thought he would have stayed on the side opposite the team benches. It all worked out. No more incidences.
Where was that official when Georgia State played Louisiana? Their coach basically plays along side his son! They always have 6 men on the court!
Obviously, Marlin made a genius move here! How could we not see it!? He took the charge on purpose, to fire up the team! Since the charge, defense has been stellar, Long playing like he's capable, Register putting us up early with the 3's, etc. Nice win last night on the road. May be peaking at the right time!?
I think refs rotate as fouls are called, I don't think they stay on one side all game. I could be wrong though.
