We came out and initially played well on both sides of the ball for two reasons. 1) We were aggressive, and 2) MT played their standard packages in order to test and adjust accordingly.

Once the two opponents took a couple of each other's best punches... MT adjusted and took the game to our weaknesses... and we decided that we did not need to make adjustments.

I do not consider this team as undertalented as some have expressed. I think we are not utilizing them very well. They are not in any way "dominating talent". We field a team of players that require really good coaching, including gametime management, to win most of our games. Regardless, I think your point of not having the "playmakers" is precisely the reason you have to coach your way to victory. It is possible.

I am mostly upset with our defense and special teams. Defensively... there is no reason why we do not get into opponent's backfields more often. Our opponents open up holes a truck can drive through. We are not talented enough defensively to not stunt and run blitz packages to attempt disrupt. I'm also not impressed with how our OL has been coached this year. That ridiculous underproductive dive blocking is terrible. I recorded and watched our OL pile up and create a wall that no RB can get around. What the heck is that all about? We couldn't make Adrian Peterson look talented behind our line right now.

Oh well, I'm just disappointed that we didn't get aggressive and take the FIU and MT games. I will be at the ULM and Troy games... to back these young guys... but I sure wouldn't fault our coaches... even in a loss... if they came out swinging for the fences for a full 60 minutes... on both sides of the ball... in both games. _
I have some major issues with Bustle when it comes to personel packages, but I am more forgiving when it comes to playcalling. On offense we are severly limited. We cannot throw the ball down field. I pretty sure our WR has the longest pass play in the air all season. At RB we have nobody. You can either make people miss or you can't. Our OL is soft.
The Defense is tougher to say because we have been horrible for so long. We have not been good on defense for 15 years.

I have posted over the last years about our inability to have kickoffs go to the endzone---This last week was the worst---Nobody has mentioned their start positions on offense following our KOs---If they score it has been only a 60 yard drive --if they don't score we start at our 10-15 yard line---this my friends gets your ass beat!!!!

I would have absolutely no problem if we kicked the ball out of bounds and gave it up to ULM and Troy on the 35 every time. Without a doubt... if we do not... when you read the game stats... you are going to see that the opponent's average starting position will be somewhere between their 36 and 46 yard line on our kickoffs. We will also give up a kickoff return for TD in one of these games if we go with our "deep" kick each time out.

But if that is the story then it doesn't hold water for this week so we better see him in there.

As VO said, stop by the Eauxk. Its been too long.

The pass from Falgout to Hill for a TD in the season opener was one of our longest pass plays this year. However, there was a pass completion of over 50 yards in the FAU game. It went from Masson to Miller and helped set up one of our scores. That was before Miller was moved to RB. Having to move our fastest wideout to RB does indicate to me that we have some talent limitations.

If a kickoff goes out of bounds, the opposition takes it at the 40, not the 35.

Dang... did we also stop wearing leather helmets? The 40yd line probably trumps my thinking.
