I can flat out guarantee you he would have won more than Rogers did, and that even if there was a slight dip, it would have been to 16-18 or so wins, then back up the following year. _
Let me jump in here. Not to JUMP on BayouBaller. We Did not leave the Program Bare (that is your opinion and you are entitled to it). I'm not going to jump in on any FIRE THE COACH STUFF EITHER. I can flat out tell you that My Asst (Wooly Hatchell) had recruited some nice players to go with the 3 returning starters plus 11 total players that either played for us or were recruited by us. Don't forget that 4 more players got away because of the coaching change (that stuff happens too). Brad can weigh in here too, we were bringing Blair back also (health permitting). Very Nice team. We lost 2 players from the 25 win team now you take and decide what could or could not happen. Let's just be fair.

As far David Walker, as I have stated before here on this board, is a FRIEND and was as good of an A.D. that I ever worked for PERIOD as far as Women's Basketball is concerned. Would Love To Work For Him Again if I ever got the chance (GOOD MAN WHO LOVES THAT UNIVERSITY). I don't wish any bad luck on any Coach. Not getting into that at all. I WILL BE COACHING SOMEWHERE NEXT YEAR.

Mereidith and I Love the Cajuns and Wish them well (All Sports). Happy Thanksgiving and BEAT T-ROY (MY ALAMA M). LoL

This certainly removes all speculation and affirms that you will be coaching (somewhere) but will it be "Somewhere over the Rainbow" or could you ever be content with dropping anchor in Lafayette and building a program that will pass the biggest test of all - the test of time? I for one and no doubt others can attest to your abilities, but you have been around long enough to know that turnover kills a program. In fairness to the incumbent, can you share why it was so difficult to get UC launched? Is Rogers going through any of the same?

No. As was stated earlier he inherited a winner and "2" 1000 point players.

When it did happen that he had 6 scholarhips to give he unwisely spent them all on freshmen. A balanced class of JC and frosh would have been a better way of sustaining success.

Rogers lost me when he was asked "6 freshmen, is this a rebuilding year?" Rogers said "No, they are good."

Green and Richard were juco transfers with this class. A 2:6 ratio is not quite balanced but what he probably thought he had returning (Dunlap, Clay, Barnes, Bell, etc.) it seemed to be a good strategy if they could indeed play at this level. I like what I am seeing from the now sophomore class.

Hey Coach, great to hear from you!

How difficult would it be for you to transition over to mens basketball?? You may be able to choose either the way things are going. I'm keeping the boudin warm for ya!

The first part of your question will be hard to answer. Do not want to put any undo pressure on the Coach. We would consider it an Honor to be considered for a job at The University of Louisiana.

The test of time. We did win 2 Championships in the last 3 years we were there. Only reason it wasn't 3 in a row was the terrible car wreck that took out 2 starters. No excuses, we still lost the West by only 1 game. Years 2-5 we either won the Western or was runner-up. Not bad. So I ask you, Were we headed in the right direction to stand the test of time ?

As far as turnover. You will always have that when a new coach comes in. They must get their players in. Here's the bigger problem, If the President leaves that hires you or the A.D. or the SWA that is a killer too. Any 1 of these is usually not good but 2 is a killer. Now you know the rest of the story. Just hope when that happens you have a great wife and loyal supporters/friends and A 5 YEAR CONTRACT WITH 3 WHOLE YEARS LEFT ON IT. LOL.

We felt like that to take over a train wreck you need to recruit the best players you can get with experience (in this case JUCO). We did and we started winning which allowed us to recruit the better H.S. kids from Louisiana and Texas. Can't speak for the new coach, I'm just answering your questions which I carefully considered. As I said on a earlier post you have a right to your opinion. I've always answered the fans with an honest answer because at the end of the day I Believe that most people on this board love the Cajuns and Care.

As far as Rainbows go, well let's just say we can be Happy where we decide to move 1 last time (was not our decision to leave UC). Not wishing any bad luck on anybody. You have no idea how bad I feel from Robert Lee (he's a good man). But at the end of the day we are judged on about 30-32 nights out of the year and our families hear that stuff too. So we are all Grown and we understand that it comes with the job (LOOK NO FURTHER THAN MY DEAL AT UC). Hope this helps. Thanks for asking. Happy Turkey Day.

Thanks for asking. I Love Coaching the Women's Game. All I ever coached for 27 years (all in College). I have been blessed to work at some great Universities under a lot of Great Coaches. Will Coach somewhere next year I hope. I LOVE TO BUILD PROGRAMS. 1 recruiting class is not really fair would you say ? We were on track up north (won 12 first year, won 8 at Louisiana, won 14 2nd year, won 13 at Louisiana) Got that 1st Championship at the BUZZER (By Ashley Blance with Stevie P on the call still gives me goosebumps) 22 wins in year 3 at Louisiana. Didn't get to year 3 up north. Can't say a lot nor will I. They have that right to do whatever it is they want to do with their program.

I would be content with 2-5 acres of Land and a lifetime contract somewhere. LoL. But remember, If you ever found a deal like that, they could always just declare you DEAD when they get tired of you. LoL. That's why my Granddaddy always told me "Son don't worry about the Horse being BLIND, Just load the Wagon". I'm A Coach, That is what I do. The day I'm Hired, I'm just that much closer to probably getting fired (If you don't win enough games). We accept it. Happy Turkey Day down there. We are Frying that 20lb bird as I write this.

Well coach, it would be great to see you on the sidelines here next year. This university needs a coach with a love and passion for the school and you obviously have that. It was great to see the teams you put on the court several years ago as it was a breath of fresh air to see the women's program accomplishing so much after many years of frustration. I hope you are able to make your way back sooner rather than later...
