So, how do you write an upcoming and outgoing headlines when the boys and girls play say ULM on the same day in basketball?
---Very Simple answer ---both Ragin' Cajuns and Title 9 Ragin' Cajuns are scheduled!!!! lol

A strip search would eliminate any questions.

Seriously, rejection of "Lady Cajuns" would be in the minds of some a rejection of Yvette Girouard.

We don't want to go there.

It does not bother me one way or the other about Yvette. I do not consider Lady Cajuns a Yvette thing. So I am one of the some who it matters not.

I agree with Turbine about one thing, the name Ragin Cajuns can be a little confusing when both men and women play the same opponents on the same day as in basketball. It is not confusing enough for me to care though, if it bothers coach and the players I go with them always.

I, as many understand what the University was trying to do, but as Turbine has noted so eloquently, The University of Louisiana LOST out and continues to lose out on $$$$MONEY$$$$ each year, as when Troy or Turbine or ANY Ragin Cajun or whatever fan wants say, a shirt, they can now buy a Ragin Cajun softball shirt, only! Where years ago WE could have also purchased a Lady Cajun shirt doubling our expenditures and Louisiana profits. I understand the separation from Yvette stuff by Coach Mike and Steff, and WILL continue to respect them and their wishes! However, I for one have NEVER looked at the situation of calling the program, Lady Cajuns as "being Yvette's, never, even today! Yvette may have started the program and brought it to a certain level and accomplishments, but Mike and Steff have taken IT to another Level. Lady Techsters, Lady Vols, Lady Tigers, etc. ALL and more are still in use, and "Lady" is still implying respect and they are ALL still Techsters,Volunteers, Tigers and YES Ragin Cajuns!

ps Mike and Steff, WE love & respect you and always will, and will do whatever your wishes are! But understand what we understand, this is YOUR PROGRAM and has been for many years now, and If you would use Lady Cajuns again, just HOW much more money would your and other Lady(women ragin Cajun)Cajun teams make? Big Hugs and knuckle bumps, Geaux UL! Geaux Louisiana!

I don't think I would own two different softball shirts, but you make a valid point. The school is losing tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars a year by putting so much unsellable merchandise with Lafayette on it. I have yet to buy a single item, I go though a lot of expenses to make my own shirts.

---C-Ex I don't make my own shirts but can tell you I have never or will ever (I think) buy the Lafayette attached name----and I have a feeling that there are so many like us!!! I wish somebody could come on here and explain the legal and financial situations behind the designs and names on the merchandise!!!

I didn't realize the "Lady Cajuns" was eliminated because it was an Yvette thing. I understood all of our women athletic programs requested we not call them that because they wanted to just be "Ragin Cajuns" like the men's programs.

I do agree that our apparel merchandise control is hideous. If you are involved in UL merchandising, you are a massively incompetent fool... or else you and your chain of command at UL are a collection of fools. Whatever stupid BS you conjured up over the past decade has been the absolute worst practices of an entity's "identity driver" via names, colors, and logos that I've ever witnessed in my entire life. You couldn't fail our university more if you had 5 rival universities helping you figure out how to destroy our identity. You suck. If you aren't a person, you suck figuratively. If you're a person in charge of this, you literally suck ___.

If multiple people who were paying even tacit attention step forward years later and say "I didn't realize" then one must realize that the revisionist history currently being put forward was never realized and thus is not real.

I'm in a workshop for my company and the marketing team came in. We have someone completely dedicated to branding who preached about branding ourselves propery and the appropriate use of company logos, name, etc. all I could think about was our situation at UL. Related to that, I talked with a guy at the workshop who played college ball and remembered playing ULL. That just made it worse.

I offer no solutions, but thought I'd interject that story into this thread.

Mike and Stefni were not 'the' coaches in 2000 so ... I question the timeline.

Side note: Official doesn't always make the most sense, so (at the time thinking) should at times be revisited.

Here is what 'official' marketing from 2000 got UL. Yellow logos, a Pepper spirit leader, Lady Cajuns hate, and Lafayette "know your place" directionalism.

    Not a very impressive group.

I remember orientation as it was only 2 years ago and they didn't address the "ULL" situation at all. Didn't even acknowledge that we prefer UL, nothing. That is on the orientation staff, but better yet, the guy whose in charge of orientation itself
