I just want consistency. Everyone wears Adidas, every program (football, basketball, baseball, etc.) uniform has the correct logos, etc.

If the players like them, check.
If they don't look stupid, check.
If the logos, text is correct, check.
Do they all have Adidas, check.
    All good for me.
The guys should just borrow the Lady Cajuns Louisiana jerseys.

    They look good, I checked.

    Female Ragin' Cajuns

If one has to (or think its ok) add "women" to any Ragin' Cajuns sports program as a descriptor, they don't know anything about UL history.

There is no dichotomy between Lady Cajuns and Ragin' Cajuns they are one in the same with a historical descriptor that does not belittle past discrimination.

    PS

Unlike most schools, the Lady Cajuns had an athletic program before the guys. Outside competition lacked for a couple years but was on the heels of the male tens.

The first time the program was given the "women" tag (Women's Athletic Association) it was promptly shut down and they were banned from competition for 50 years.

Lady Cajuns are heroes. They are also Ragin' Cajuns, through and through.

And, the university has asked for the last 14 years that Ragin' Cajuns be used to describe sports of both genders.

You have no idea how much you disrespect Mike and Stefni when you call them "Lady Cajuns"

    That's a tradition that's dead.

Amazing that people on this board will get ____ed when other people won't call us what we want to be called, yet we have fans that will ____ on our own programs by using something that has specifically been "retired."

Were Mike and Stefni behind the university push for commonality of nicknames?

I thought that was an idea from Martin Hall.

Also, a dead tradition? Not so sure. I know of more than a few fans who still refer to the Softball players as Lady Cajuns. Years after this nickname proclamation by Martin Hall, I remember some Softball players on a newsclip saying "Lady Cajuns!" I'm sure they are still a few former players to whom this tradition is not dead.

Finally, All men were created equal, Ragin Cajun Women Softball players are custom made does not exactly roll off of the tongue. I believe the proper term is LADY CAJUNS.

When there was anniversary rebranding in 1999 and money was spent on the Pepper and fonts, Lady Cajuns were not included to save money. Show me one document from that year officially retiring the term. It didn't happen.

There was a fake racial controversy that led the university to avoid use of "Cajuns" by itself. During this time "Cajuns" was removed from clothing as Ragin' Cajuns was deemed non racial. Lady Cajuns was not part of this controversy.

Up until the day Stefni stepped down as the winningest (average yearly wins) coach in NCAA history, I only communicated with her through ladycajuns@louisiana.edu and her with me. There is zero disrespect here, any perceived is artificially contrived.

There is no fundamental difference between using the term "Cajuns Women" and Lady Cajuns. Except and unless there is a double standard on revisionist history.

PS it could have been @ragincajuns.com I will have to look up my archive emails.

I'm more than happy to call someone what they want to be called but I never understood what is so disrespectful about the word Lady.

Come on now, he's making that stuff up. I've been a fan for over 30 years and I hear fellow long time fans who still call them the Lady Cajuns. No insults there.
