I listened to the women's game then followed the first half of the men's on the live stats. I fell asleep, woke up and saw the final score, laughed to myself a little then went back to sleep. I'm sure that's where a lot of us are with this team right now. I love all of our teams, but man these guys make it extremely difficult.

    My thoughts exactly

Coach does not allow his players to get hot and loss. Plays to many players. This is not the NBA. Not everyone should be playing

My thoughts are that late in the game there is no one with enough MENTAL toughness to make a big shot, or even willing to take a big shot. I don't think it is a lack of effort as some are saying. Guys are trying. There appears to be a lack of confidence when things get tight at crunch time. Goes back to what I said earlier, lack of upper classmen leadership drives some of that. Being a leader is not simply yelling at folks. You have to produce on the court for it to be effective. I would be surprised if this team is able to turn it around due to the confidence issue. Looking beyond this year I am not going to automatically say there is no way we cannot improve next season. There are two players sitting out this year and another two that signed early. We do not know how much of a difference they will make. We also do not know who will be brought in come spring signing and what their additions will mean. I will say the the results to date this year are unacceptable to anyone connected with the program.

You listened to the women's game??? Stat sheet. Teams combined for 57 fouls and 51 turnovers. Teams missed 21 foul shots in the second half. Cajuns went 13 minutes without making a bucket and still won. You think the men's conference is bad? Don't think it's as bad as the women's.

I never said it was a well played game nor that Sun Belt women's basketball was a quality product, I just said that I listened to it.

Well said. The UL women may not be the most talented, but they play hard and don't quit.

Agreed. That's why they can win such a sloppily played game and the men cannot.

Marlin's record is 79-75, that includes a 23-12 season. How long do we keep a lousy coach?

He has had a few moments, but has done an awful job this year.

The group of coaches in the Belt right now, except for Richard and Kaspar is weak right now.

I wish we had Keith Richard at our program right now.

I don't think Marlin is a lousy coach, he just isn't getting the job done for whatever reason. He needs to fix it, he has been given enough time and with his contract will be given more time to fix it. It's on him to get that done.
