Apple’s two-factor authentication was a long-overdue upgrade for Apple ID security, but there were some areas that needed improvement. Today,_the company has enabled two-factor verification for_both iMessage and FaceTime. Previously, users that had two-factor enabled could log in to iMessage or FaceTime without requiring the time sensitive codes that should be required. Everyone should activate two-factor to ensure that their account is properly protected; it only takes a few minutes if you follow the instructions here. However, be_sure to keep the recovery key safe or you might find yourself locked out of your account like I did.
