While I'm not going to be an "idiot" about it, I'm afraid I have to agree with 2112 on this one. I don't see how anyone in their right mind would want to select a team (I don't care if we end up finishing 8-4!) with back-to-back losses against 1-win teams for ANY bowl game. Put it this way, I'll ONLY believe it when I see it.

its about how you finish, you'd have to be an idiot to think that we wouldnt get a bowl game if we finish out beating 2 of the top 3 teams in the sunbelt and also beating K State with how they've been playing. If a team finishes the season strong they will most likely get a bowl game.
Im pretty sure if a team started 6-0 and lost 6 straight they wouldnt get a bowl game, if a team won 2 or 3 in the beginning then finished with 4 or 5 wins towards the end of the season, they will get a bowl bid.
I know we need 7 wins for a bowl bid. is that possible? if we beat MTSU i think so. if we lose i dont think so.
I didn't read all the post on this thread, but I think we can win this game too. You have to beleive you can win every game!!
CAJUNS WIN!!
I think our shot at a bowl is slim to none. I also believe that our shot is actually better at 7-5 than at 8-4.
In other words - Troy.
IF we beat MT and LaMo they both fall to two conference losses while we rise to 7-5.
Beating Troy under this circumstance almost assures that Troy honors the SBC bid for the NO Bowl.
MT, ULM and UL all stay home.
BUT
AN undefeated in conference Troy almost assuredly looks for a payday.
If the NO BOWL opens up, they don't have to take the SBC No.2.
IF the NO BOWL had its choice between MT, ULM and UL they would probably want us or MT because of our fan base (guess who leads the conference in attendance?)
So, I'd say a 7-5 Cajun team is more likely to bowl than 8-4.
But I've predicted from the beginning that this was a season that we'll go 7-5 and miss a bowl, because 7-5 was good enough last year, but won't be this year.
SO, In summary, at minimum I would like us to Beat MT and LaMo. And if MT could do us the additional favor of beating LaMo the following week, that'd be nice (LaMo goes 6-6 in that scenario).
Heck, the bowls if they could would take an 0-12 LSU over a 12-0 Troy.
Troy is not going to be picked up by a better bowl.

Re: I believe we can beat the Blue Raiders
Yes, it's pretty much academic at this point.
But, for the umpteenth time in Bustle's tenure, that's pretty much all we Cajun fans have got.
And before Bustle. When were all these times we were able to even
talk about bowls. None.
