Thread: Baseball Preview: Pitchers

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Baseball Preview: Pitchers

As we near the first pitch of the 2015 season, we fittingly take a look at the pitching staff of the Louisiana baseball team in today's preview. The Ragin' Cajuns biggest challenge of the year will be replacing the entire weekend rotation from a season ago.

This info was pointless. We knew this already

There are some who won't look up season pertinent information till the season is upon us.

So this info is/was/will be useful.

What about those that don't come here? Was it pointless to those people?

Eric Carter is my pick as one that will pleasantly surprise us.

Not sure how I feel about Charp being the #1 guy. I know he did well last year. He's just more of a soft thrower that hits his spots. But if he's missing it'll be a long day and season for him.

Base on the way the info was provided, my guess would be that if Milhorn didn't have the flu for a week draining him he would have been the Friday night guy with Charp being the Sunday guy. JMO

Same goes for every other pitcher on the planet.

I believe his point was that because he doesn't have electric stuff, he has to "pitch" a near perfect game to be successful.

We have had a lot of guys be very successful not throwing hard, let bazar miss his spot with a 98mph fast ball and watch it land at alberstons. At this level, if you can't hit your spots you are gonna get crushed...if you can't locate these hitters will catch up to it eventually no matter the speed was my point.

Milhorn will be the Fri-guy once he's back on track...missed with flu. Charp will be ok. Very effective Sun-guy that has the potential to pick up a lot of wins on weekdays if he doesn't bode well on the wknds. I think the first few weekends we'll pitch like we do on the weekdays...a pitcher every 2-3 innings..

Agreed, and electric stuff doesn't mean a fastball only. That's why Bazar is still not a starter. Has a solid fastball without a whole lot of movement and no secondary pitch that he can consistently throw for strikes. He's progressing, but still a ways off.

If he can return to the form he had at the beginning of last season. Guillory has been the best pitcher in the fall, but naturally Robichaux wants to go with experience early.

Last year we never lost a weekend series. It's so critical to win Friday games to start the series. If that's to happen, someone will have to pitch above their head this year. It is going to be extremely interesting how Tony manages the pitching staff. There will likely be continuous activity in our bullpen all game long this year.
