"I'm a '74 grad and have not rec'd one piece of info regarding the RCAF. "
They had a brochure in the football season ticket packet.
There have been RCAF registration forms at each home game, one came with season tickets, they were at the scrimmages and fan day, and they sent it to the alumni association members. I understand that you think they should go after you and others more aggressively... like send every grad a form through the mail... but this first round of solicitation has been with those that they have a good chance of signing up easily. Anyone who got missed, and really wants to join, it's very easy to register on ragincajuns.com. I'm not trying to put you down, but even if they sent you a form today, you added that you wouldn't join under the current circumstances.
There are going to be bigger pushes for RCAF membership. But, I do not think they can make a lot of hay through general marketing (the deep dig for membership) until a little sunshine seeps into the program. Because sunshine only shines on those who don't sit in the shade, the administration has to announce a super accelerated plan for making UL football massive. Some monied people will be interested in "massive"... and they will build the bridge to the next level... then we'll add more fans, more general RCAF membership and positive results. It all takes care of itself after that... nothing but luxurious problems to deal with.
We have got to push our leadership into borrowing massively and building massively... in a way that hugely outpaces the initiatives of the opponents we recruit and play against. Without a single doubt... THAT is the absolute ONLY way to improve things at UL.
The students actually pay an Athletic Fee included in tuition, this is how they get into games for "free." I am not entirely sure what the fee is, I looked online for it everywhere, but it is a student assessed fee. I am not too sure that the students are going to raise this fee, or tax, on themselves.
When it comes down to it the RCAF is the way to handle our financial situation. Lets raise money from the folks that have it (alumni and business) not the students.
