Doug Flutie (Boston College), Dwight Dasher (Middle Tennessee), Drew Tate (Iowa), Chase Daniel (Missouri) and Todd Reesing (Kansas) managed to succeed as undersized college QBs. Plus Drew Brees (Purdue and the Saints) has done OK, too.

One of the most overlooked aspects of being a good QB is finding and utilizing proper throwing lanes.

Not saying he won't make it, just saying that's why he probably didn't get all that much attention from bigger schools. You know as well as I do that scouts tend to get caught up in the numbers and pretty much stop there. This guy probably has all the tools in the world, but the first thing a scout will tell his boss is that the kid's 5-10. That's just the way it is.

You want to talk about short QBs, you could also mention Joe Theismann, Billy Kilmer and Fran Tarkenton. All were listed as 6-0, but were probably closer to 5-10.

Not quite, remember this is his nephew not his son or daughter. As most people on the board will attest I am one of the biggest diehards the Cajuns have ever had, but both of my neices have all but said they are going to LSU, they are 15 and 13, so I have very little time to convince them that they are making a huge mistake. I can't control the garbage that my brother pushes on his kids, nor can Brett Favre do this for his nephew. Comparing this situation to if Jake had a college age kid is rediculous.

While I am sure Brett is not jumping for joy, I don't think it would be the same as his kid chosing Ole Miss or Miss State. Also remember, maybe USM did not recruit his nephew, the kid has to do what is best for himself.
