St. Stanislaus is run by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, the same order that runs Brother Martin in New Orleans and I think they also run Catholic High in BR. The old time Brothers (a dying breed; think Pat O'Brien or Jimmy Cagney in those old 30' and 40's movies) were tough guys who stressed discipline. It is a boarding school but also takes local kids as well. Its not necessarily for "troubled kids" but it was a place that parents used to tell their boys they would send them if they got out of line so the Brothers could straighten them out. I would dispute the notion that its for kids that can't get in the other schools mentioned.

    That is correct!

I think you have explained the negative stigma that is associated with St. Stans from the people living in Louisiana. Parents used the name to scare thier kids. The truth is that it is a very well respected school with tons of history.

Yes, St Stanislaus has boarders, it also has numerous foreign students many of who are 2nd or 3rd generation attending, it also has day students and has an excellent summer camp during the summer months. The school does stess discipline still (which is lacking in all public schools now), but it does not tolerate or need disruptive students that are just being shoveled off from their parents. Dylan is a day student whose family has lived in Hancock County for hundreds of years. Kiln is only 10 miles or so from the Stanislaus campus. So, no Dylan is not a student that was shoved to the brothers of the sacred heart. It is an honor for a local student to attend St Stanislaus and all students have to pass entrance exams to attend. And yes St Stanislaus has an excellent coach that has taken the team to new levels in a short period of time. He is young knowledgable and driven like few I have seen. I had the opportunity to hear him speak last year and he is impressive and the students appear to have followed his leadership well. Dylan Favre would make a good addition to any team that he ends up on

The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws (9-1, 6-0) claimed the Division 8-4A title for the second time under the current classification format and the first since 2004 with their 56-33 win over the visiting Purvis Tornadoes 'in between the walls' at the Brother Philip Memorial Athletic Complex.
The Rock offense racked up 521 yards in the game and scored eight touchdowns. Dylan Favre was 23-for-32 passing for 376 yards and five touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns on 11 carries for 73 yards.

He's very intelligent. His parents sent him to St. Stans because he was hard-headed. Great guy... serious, serious Jujitsu skills.

If you come in contact with Coach Williams at any point tell him and ole cajun friend said hello... He will know who I am. I've been trying to get over that way to see his team play and visit but just has not been in the cards.

Well, your great head coach called for an onside kick late in a game when he was leading forty something to 7 over Pass Christian. He continued to run up the score to a final 69-7 with Farve in the game and throwing the whole way..

No class! And NOT a good role model for those young men under his watch!!

I wish we had a coach that could come in and within 2 years win championships ))
