Many people were surprised LSU offered Bates in the first place. They see him as a LB'er, but he would be a DE in our system at 6-3,230 right now. He visited as a junior last season, but has not been in yet on any unofficial visit, nor has he scheduled an official visit as of today. We have stayed on him and several others that are committed already, and LSU received a big commitment from a top 10 DE prospect this past weekend. So we will see what happens in the next few weeks. But until I hear it from him, he is still committed to LSU.
