Seniority counts for "0" in my view. The QB that starts must be the best we have and that has to be proven this spring and August. The past should have no bearing on who starts. With having said that, I do think more than 1 person is going to play QB for the Cajuns this season.
Do you mean as a 2 QB system? I think you're right that coaches won't see enough leading up to the start of the season to choose an exact 1, 2, 3... and will likely platoon 2 or 3 QBs in our first few games until a clear #1 emerges. I believe in that method going into a season replacing a senior #1. Eventually, however, I like getting a new #1 established. I think the OL and the rest of the offense needs to get settled in with the style of a #1.
Well, not so much a 2 QB system. I don't think that is what will happen, and I hope it doesn't happen. I'm with you in that I like a certain #1 QB, and I think that works best. What I think is that it won't be certain for a while and it may take 4 or 5 games. I think we will hear the coach speak that "he" is our starter, but reality will be that "he" is for now until I see what someone else can do in a real live situation. The person that can move the team forward and do it with minimal mistakes should be the #1 QB. No one knows who that will be at this point. We haven't been in this situation in a long time, but it will sure be interesting to watch.
K thanks, did not know that we were still waiting on a game. Do we play Boise at home this year?
