Thread: Selections for new coach

I am for anyone that will improve the team. That being said, your team is a reflection of your coach. It is disheartening when you look across the field and you see the class of Schnellenberger and know what we have in our coach. Our coach is atrocious. He has never been and I doubt he will ever be taken as professional. Charlies Weiss can even fit in slacks and he weighs at least an extra hundred pounds. Hopefully the wind pants will go with him at the end of the season.

Its Muschamp the D coordinator, and you're right he will be the next HC. I agree with you. If we could throw a raise and HC job at Major Applewhite I would be super pumped that guys got offensive brains!

Also, if memory serves me correctly, Bartel (the HS coach mentioned earlier) was on our staff a few years back.

And that alone should rule him out. He wasn't exactly part of a great coaching staff and there's a reason he's not coaching at the college level anymore.

I like the idea of Bower! Guy did some great things at S. Miss.

Bobby Bowden might have an opening soon.......

I like the idea of Bower too. Good track record at Southern Miss. For the young and upcoming, Applewhite would be a great option. Isn't he from the Baton Rouge area? Seems that along with his "name", the local connection couldn't hurt!

I'm with you about paying to play and stay competitive, let's look at it this way, next 2 home games we have ~10K attendance in both (that's realistic especially given we could be on a 4 game slide), 20K times $25 a head (conservative) = 500K revenue OR real coach real interest in OUR team 2 homes games 30K at both, 60K times $25 a head = 1.5M revenue, just paid for a real coach in 2 games!!!! Time to move forward......I'm know accountant but no business and numbers don't lie, much rather see this program progressing instead of regressing..........

I have a few suggestions for our new head coach should it be so decided...

    HC choices:

    1. Dick Bumpas- TCU defensive coordinator/ d-line coach
    2. Bryan Harsin- Boise St. off. coordinator/ qb coach
    3. Terry Bowden- HC at University of North Alabama
    4. Mike London- U. of Richmond HC

Bartel should have been named as Bustle's DC instead of just DB coach.

He was the guy behind Tillman and Taylor getting drafted (Taylor after 1 year) and UL getting the nickname DB-U

What about that coach at Notre Dame? What is his name again?

On a serious note, I am thinking about the future but reserve to start thinking seriously about replacing Bustle until we are 2-5 in Conference. If that happens, lets play Troy without a Head Coach and start looking to the future.
