How about Dennis Franchione??
Ignore the stuff that he did at A&M and Bama. Before that, he was a successful mid-major coach with New Mexico and TCU. He recruited and coached Brian Urlacher with UNM and LaDainian Tomlinson with TCU. With TCU, he reached 10 wins, then bolted for the big time. I think his infractions w/A&M will keep the bigger schools away, plus last year he was a finalist for the San Diego State job. That proves he's still intrigued by a D1 coaching gig. He could be our Schellenberger (or however you spell it). The money might be a issue, but i would think a 500k contract would appease him and the university.
