  1. Default No hat tricks for place-kicker Artigue

UL — There was no National Signing Day drama at Lafayette High on Wednesday.

There was no hat dance; there was no mystery. Stevie Artigue — the 5-foot-10, 175-pound kicker for the Mighty Lions — had just one hat on the table as he signed his letter...

Glad this kid is on our team. A true Ragin Cajun. Some great quotes in there.

Heard he has a cannon leg!!! We have not had a go-to kicker since Huds 3rd season. Glad he have him. If he can deliver 6 to 9 points a game that is a game changer

Geeze, the old crew at LHS were true dyed in the wool McNeese tools. When my son played, we would walk in in Friday afternoon to feed the kids pregame and Barousse would start hammering the heck out of me about how much ULL sucked, some of the rest of the knuckleheads would chime in. He was good to my son so I will give him that, but he would be choking on his hat if he were still there and one of his top rated players chose UL over a "big school."

Artigue is a good, good kid from a very solid family. We are blessed to have them as Cajuns!!!

I know it's tongue in cheek, but if he's as good as we think and at 5'10" 175lbs, I hope we never have to find out.
