Stars? A guest last week on the NFL radio network was the head man for 247. They were discussing stars and the fact no five stars playing in Super Bowl. According to him they get their ranking from about three hundred coaches across the country.
I guess a player in this area might be graded by a UL, LSU, and or McBrokeback staff, maybe all three.
After they get all the coaching input they assign the values to each player. So if LSU, UL, and McBrokeback say player A is a no miss stud he might be a five star, if he has a flaw maybe a four, and so on. He said they use some sort of algorithm formula to determine national rank.
I suspect if UL has a kid as an absolute stud, and LSU sees a flaw it is a four star, and so on. It never explains how a kid goes overnight from a four star to a three star when he chooses someone other than a P5 school. He did say players stars go up and down in the season based on how they play, and I guess the three hundred coach surveys.
