Thread: Davis, Imagbe Lead Cajuns To Second-Place Finish At McNeese Indoor

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Davis, Imagbe Lead Cajuns To Second-Place Finish At McNeese Indoor

Devin Davis set a personal-best in claiming the men's long jump while Stacy Imagbe set a season-best in claiming the women's long jump as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns earned six first-place performances at the McNeese State Indoor Invitational that finished late Friday at the McNeese Recreation Complex.

Really impressed with some of these marks our athletes are putting together. We are seeing a complete team coming together. Jumps and throws we have had, but Sprinting is deeper, and distance is in great form.

How/does XC function at an indoor meet?

I haven't seen results with Brazil.
Hanoj Carter though killed it at T A&M meet in sprints. He is in 60m n 200m indoor. He is a transfer from Northwestern State. He won an outdoor 200m conference championship as a true freshman, and Southland yearly puts sprinters placing at Nationals.
Tyler Hughes a true freshman hurdler is really looking good. He has beat Cormier (junior all conference) every meet I've seen. Not by much but they will push each other. Would not be surprised if both are in contention for hurdler title in May.
Matt Rice is only men's distance runner to score last year and has already ran faster indoor mile and 800 of his life.
Davis in jumps should contend jumps for titles.
Couple throwers leading conference standing as well.
Coaches have done a great job getting talented smart athletes and are coaching them well.

    Distances are up to 800, 1500, 3k, and 5k.
Only difference is runners can specialize in their event.
Cross is generally all of the runners from those events running 5k to 10k on grass.
Same guys n gals run cross indoor n outdoor.

Is it always on a track, or if the facility permits can a course be customized? For XC

Cross is always outside in a field setting or park. They just use what land is giving to use and make what distance they want. The amount of land usually dictates the distance.
Basically, if you a distance runner u run cross during fall.

So there is no such thing as indoor Cross Country?

I was thinking of a 90% indoor course at Cajun Field that runs under the upper deck, upper and lower concourses and only comes outside for the ramp level change.
