Somewhere in official UL documentation you may read that UL's 1st Homecoming was November 2, 1946. Wrong, that was the 1st homecoming that welcomed soldiers back from WWII.

The practice of holding Homecoming at UL goes back at least 85 years to 1925. The clip below is from the 1925 UL year book L Acadien.

The nonchalant reference makes me think the practice goes back much further. In 1905 there were 2 alumni games, in my book that could pass for homecoming.

The Thanksgiving Day games were all Homecoming games.

I have informed them (with proof) several times before.

At least when I found 12 UL football games betwen 1901-1907 including 1 vs LSU it only took 3 years to add them it to the media guide. There is are still some old UL releated sites with pages spreading the old 1908 as the start of UL football.
