Coming off its sixth trip to the Women's College World Series, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team was picked to defend its Sun Belt Conference title as the 2015 Preseason Poll was released by the league office on Wednesday.

I know some of you guys want to get into CUSA, but the Sun Belt in Softball is very competitive. The Belt is one of the top ten softball conferences. Several of the teams will be making it to the NCAA Post Season tournament of 64. We are the Best in the Belt, but it is getting harder to stay on top.

UL's standard of excellence has given the other schools something to aim for.

I have no doubt that they use UL as a competition recruiting tool.

I suspect UL would do the same for CUSA.
