Howard Snelinburger may be getting up in age but he is still a good coach. UL getting -3 is due to Vegas respecting Snelinburger.
Am I the only one who sees the parallels between this season so far and the 2006 season up to the same point?
To my memory, that team was playing really well and then just imploded which is what made it so frustrating. This year, we are doing more with the amount of youth and inexperience at key positions such as RB and QB. There is a reason that this year's team was picked 6 among SBC schools in the preseason and the 06' team was picked 1st.
If that happens, it will be just one more similarity.
Both teams
*were 4-2
*allowed 50+ points to a Big XII team, on the road, and lost
*scored 40+ points against a 1-AA HBCU School, at home, and won
*played LSU and scored 3 points
*had a come from behind win v. a team from Texas 2 weeks before HC (though 2006 was on the road and 2009 was at home)
*had a less than impressive performance v. a 1st year 1-AA team playing its first season in the SBC, on the road, the week before HC
Not everything has changed. And the things you mentioned that have changed have very little direct impact on any given game, at least in the short term.
