A little late... Collegiate Baseball released their poll last month and have us 43rd... basically...

Of course, THEY think we lost everybody from last year, too!!

My baseball history is almost exactly the same as campo's, the only difference is that I WAS at the Baton Rouge Regional in 2013, as well as every other one we have been in that Robe has been here. My brother played from 96-99, in which I got to witness some amazing teams and the start of Robe's run.

Campo is correct in this silly argument with crazycajun. Crazy, you jumped all over campo simply because he brought up Dex. The only reason he brought him up is because you seemed to think we didn't lose "anyone" from the 40 win team the year before and you thought we weren't ranked preseason. If you were as die hard as campo and myself and many others about Cajun baseball, you would KNOW that we were ranked preseason in EVERY poll last year. The numbers I believe were 14 Baseball America, 20 Collegiate Baseball, 24 Perfect Game, and maybe 23 NCBWA. Those are the rankings I remember.

He is valid in bringing up Kjerstad. The dude was LIGHTS OUT. I don't care how well Butler did last year, that's besides the point. The point is that with Dex, we would have been EVEN BETTER. Butler was as great as he could be in his absence, but with Dex, that would have made our bench that much stronger with Butler.

Dex was a difference maker. End of story.

And I have to admit I'm a "little" irked by the fact that we aren't ranked in this year's polls. But It's more of an emotion and not based on reality. Looking at it realistically, we have a lot to prove when it comes to PITCHING. I truly believe that our fielding and hitting will not fall off as much as some here think. Pitching will tell the story this season.

That being said, I very much believe we are going to be a 40 win team this year. It is an attainable goal and our guys should not settle for anything less. I'm pretty confident we can climb our way back into the rankings fairly quickly if we can show some of the same mustard we had last year.

With what I heard the other morning from a Virginia Coach about Robe, and its not like WE here at UL did not already know it, but Robe is a gem that Louisiana is lucky to have and in his and MANY others is the BEST pitching coach in America! That being said with what we bring back and what has come in, talent level wise, I think that by mid conference THIS season our pitching will be Awesome! Fall ball had a Freshman leading in HR's at one point, we have speed, WE need Leadership and we should be just fine!

I can count on one hand the games I missed in 15 years and because I didn't wet my shorts over preseeson rankings Im not a fan, sounds kind of hypocritical of both of you. I jumped him because he was being a smart az, which I fine with bc I'm pretty much always a smart az but obviously I can take a lil ___ talk...a message board doesn't ever become "overbearing" to me. Some of you take this stuff way too serious. Dex was good and I never said he wasn't but maybe dex was about dex and not the team, maybe he decided to leave after a few of those 5am football like offseason training Deggs had them doing... Maybe it's better that he left, a guy who would let his coaches and teammates find out through twitter that he was leaving. That team last year was full of talent but accomplished what they did because Of what they went through. we return more this year than we lost that year and prior have said we lost everyone... Where were you and the figure of speech police at then? It's cute how you all speak for each other and defend one another though.

Attacking a former player's character now. You're a real winner.

Ask his former teammates how they feel about him... When I say maybe, I'm not guessing. In fact go ask any of them if they think they coulda went all the way if they had dex, see what they say.

Alright so you forgot about Dex, but you know that all of his teammates didn't care for him. You're rich dude. If he was a cancer, you would have remembered as much and it wouldn't have taken 4 pages for you to bring it up. Instead when all your discounting failed, you started slinging mud like you typically do.

I'm wondering how you know everything about every sport. You know all the current and former players and coaches and their feelings on things. You know all of the potential players and coaches we could be getting. What don't you know? Why aren't you anchoring Sportscenter yet? Someone is really missing out on you. You should be a hot commodity right now.

He didnt leave on good terms, I'll leave it at that. I don't care if he was their best friend.. Go ask them and see what answers you get. Yall are basically taking a dump on what they did by saying boy they mighta made it with dex... And yeah I do know some of the athletes, they are people like yiu and me. They even have conversations with people like you and me. I guess nobody could possibly know anything outside of you and farmer's polite email banter. By the way, I thought your work was done here and Yiu werent commenting anymore
