Let's Geaux Cajuns
Last year, our team wasn't playing lights out until about April. I expect the same for this season. The injury bug has hit the softball team a little harder than last year. Not just one pitcher is down, but three. However, Coach Mike always seems to find a player that steps up. I think the same will happen this year. Thankfully, we have 14 games at home to start the season. The girls will have a hometown crowd to support them in their quest for finding the right players. Get your season tickets today to help support the softball team.
The word is Alex is pitching great, look to see a lot of her early on. Even if you can't buy season tickets join the Centerfield club and help support the ladies. All money goes directly to the program.
Here you go, found it in an email.
Watched Kylee Jo pitch a few days ago. I was very impressed.
I'll make a prediction:
These young pitchers will gain an amazing amount of experiance at the beginning of the season. Then when Hamilton and Wallace return we will have at least 3-4 pitchers to turn to on our way to a WCWS run and a potential National Championship!!!
There. I said it first.!!
I think you are right. I know Mike is always the kind of guy to keep his cards close to his chest, but he knows deep down inside that of all the strong teams he has fielded over the years, none had the depth and talent that this one does. I think he has had better lineups in the past, better individual pitchers in the past, but never the depth that this squad has with potentially 3-4 solid arms and a lineup without many holes. You never want to predict a championship in a spring sport, because unlike football, rarely does the best team win it all… But this may be the best all around team to ever sport a Lady Cajun uniform, much like the baseball team last year… Unfortunately that's where my bad omens come in… Even though I think the Cajuns were the best team in baseball (IMO only Virginia, Ole Miss, and Oregon State could make a case) last year, they still didn't get er done at the end, and that is my only worry for this years Lady Cajuns.
I've heard Stevie-P say more than once the best Cajun softball team in history didn't make it to the WCWS. Nothing is guaranteed, and Mike has been saying the same thing every year.
