    Arkansas ST 6-6 (5-3) Eligible
    MTSU 7-5 (5-3) Eligible

    FAU 4-8 (3-5)
    UNT 4-8 (3-5)
    FIU 1-11 (1-7)
    WKU 0-12 (0-8)

Or so i hope it plays out like this. _
My prediction is we win against WKU. Other than that I don't know. Let's take one game at a time. We are not good enough to be thinking down the road.

My best guess, UL will win 2 of the next 3 and sit 5-3 going in to the meat of the schedule.
After that, I hope we can take 2 more.
IF we can win the next 3, it could get really fun.
I can see this team winning anywhere between 6-9 games. Any win total > or = 7, Bustle gets an extension and a huge raise. If we can somehow win 8, I think the local recruiting tide turns and we start getting kids like Ambrose, D. Johnson, etc.

But as RC 90 said 1 game at a time!!

It's good to see so many optimistic predictions.

However if we play like we did against North Texas we won't beat anyone except WKU.

This would be the scenario, we as cajun fans, all look forward to because to be in this position would mean we are easily bowl eligible and likely already at 7 wins. However, what is most frustrating to me is that the only things that control whether we have a packed house or only 18-20k in the swamp are the weather and how/where LSU is playing on that given day. That is sad.

I would agree with that. I think that was a bad game for UL and they will play better defensively going forward. How much better is the question.

Only a few short years ago we were concerned with having the minimum number of fans in Cajun Field to remain eligible for D1A ball. We have never gotten over the .500 mark in 7 seasons under Bustle, with the exception of one 6-5 season... in the SBC. We have not seen any postseason play. Lafayette is an elitest minded city in Louisiana. Those who participate in college football, outside of the very loyal Cajun fan, do not derive the short term entertainment return, nor any hope of a long term entertainment hope that a loyalist gets with average results in a weak conference. Weather and LSU are perfectly adequate excuses for these people... and the way a free society works... they get to make their own excuses and live how they wish. My whiny ass doesn't count... and no one else's does either... thank goodness.

Realistically, I never expect a larger than 15k ish crowd on any weekend home game that does not include a BCS opponent... an ancient rival... or a team that brought at least 8k of their own fans. Greater than 15k amazes me. But, I'm sick of hearing how proud we are of the greatness of that small but honorable crowd. That is the talk of eunuchs. This is college football in the south. I sure wish we had the old crowd that had a huge hairy pair. Even more good looking women would show up if the old crowd was back. The eunuchs can still play in the grass and keep the children from getting run over... but they cannot run our football program.

RC90 is correct about predicting our season. Absolutely dead nuts on. We are in no shape to predict anything. Our football players need to fight WKU today like WKU just spit on their moms and kissed their girlfriends. We have to start being brutal football execution machines and stop acting like kids at a wishing well.

Well when i first started a young 8 year old fan they were considered USL Ragin Cajuns, and thats what i know them as, but now they are ULL Ragin Cajuns, if Louisiana had only one University then yes it would be us, but the reason why i dont make offense of a name of the University is because its factual, we are in Lafayette. I guess i dont know the deep background of this argument, but i know its gay that ULM had to follow and take the UL name but i dont see or have the desire to make a name give me a sour face. I will still go for the RAGIN CAJUNS. If they ever try to change the name then im sure that would make me angry. but to say we are UL like we have always been UL since the beginning of the SLII opened?? that would be nonsense and has no value to show anger towards because it was NEVER officially just UL.

so after that drawn out explanation that is why i dont make a big deal about it being ULL. That wont change how big a fan i am for the Ragin Cajuns.

Be prepared R.Waldo, you are going to get educated on what happened about 1984 with the name change.
