You should check it out sometime with you kid on the mound with a one run lead over South AL.........it rocks.

Velocity helps, but is one of most overrated parts of pitching. Most D1 hitters can turn around a fastball and send it the other direction alot quicker than he who threw it. _
    Agreed. (see Hunter)

Throwing with the wrong hand it helpful sometimes. Which hand does the boy throw with?

My son is a RHP, also plays 3rd, and occasionally in LF or RF.

What school does he play far?

My son asked me not to say anything about what school he plays for or his name until UL makes him an offer.

Right now everything is terminus a quo.

Is he currently being recruited by UL?

If he names the player I have to pull the thread.

Until then this is all hypothetical.

Totally understand. I like the conversation, I think it is a good way for all folks to see what we offer and how good our program is.

We have been in contact with one of your coaches....

I don't know what your coach is thinking, so I don't know....just saying!

If any of you care my son played today for the Select team at his high school:

    3 inning pitch, 57 pitches ,1 hit, 3 walks, 1 run, 5K's.

Score was 3 - 1 when he left the game.

He is still growing due to his age. He just turned 17 and I am fairly sure he will be able to hit the 90's by the time he is finishing college.
He has developed a very good curve ball and he has an effective change up.

How good is the pitching staff at UL?

Is Robe and his staff good enough to get him to the next level?

Does UL use its pitchers wisely or does the pitching staff have constant arm problems?

    Thanks, _
Not many D1 schools are going to recruit high school seniors that only throw in the low to mid 80's--
