The headline that Shawn was "short on words after solid performance" was the truth. Luke's job is to report facts & offer personal commentary (in a column like this). That's exactly what he did. Luke could have blown it out of proportion but showed restraint by waiting to mention the comments until the 16th paragraph. (I've been in Luke's spot several times, including when Robert Lee kicked a chair after a Tulane loss in December 2009 in response to my question about how frustrating it was to lose a winnable game with Louisville next on the schedule.)

Some argue it was unnecessary to report what Shawn had to say, but any respectable journalist has to mention what was said after he had such a big game. Otherwise, a portion of readers would be wondering why Shawn wasn't quoted and/or had nothing to say. The good thing is it's a teachable moment & everyone should be able to move on - granted it doesn't happen again.

Luke was right. Josh is right. End of story.

We seriously need a new instruction book on how to properly utilize our pitch forks.

Ok but "paragraph 16" as a disclaimer is irrelevant if its in the TITLE.

@Just1More: But I obviously did something wrong if you didn't mention your thong.

@Turbine: From a journalistic perspective, the headline was factually accurate & a perfect fit for Luke's column. The better question is, what headline would you have used?

"Long Let's His Play Do The Talking, Thankfully, Nuff Said."

@Parrott: The fact you mentioned my thong makes it all ok again, Josh. Besides, I get a little wiggy when my thong and pitch forks are no more than a word or two apart.

Anyone complaining about Luke should be forced to read 10 Buckley articles a day until they cry uncle. I still can't believe how immature some grown men here are about the name. He's come on here and explained its over his head... jeez...give it up. Sheesh.. You are missing good coverage of YOUR team.

Can't wait for the baseball coverage. Have not had that since JP... Other than the occasional DanMcDonald piece.

Thanks Alfred but Buckley has his own share of correction threads.

    This ain't one of them.

I thought you only responded with play on words that are catchy but not really funny?

Wait. Shultz's show is a SPORTS show? The 10 seconds I can stomach are usually filled with him giving the other guy grief about how much he eats.
