I thought State farm was in the insurance business? I tried to get a quote for my daughter on some Homeowners Insurance (Not in a flood zone) from State Farm and was told they are not insuring many homes south of I-10 anymore!!!! Seems like they want the money but only if they don't have to risk paying it back!

What's up with that? Katrina was 10 years ago.

I know Allstate insurance lost over 100% of all homeowner premium dollars for the thirty years prior to Andrew. Katerina was twice that. Also do not confuse flood with homeowner.

They want to be in Louisiana, but do not want the market share they currently have south of I-10. They like State Farm are legally obligated to grandfather policies south of I-10. So other quality players are filling the gap at better rates to new policyholders.

I was with Allstate for 30 years with no claims until they called about 12 years ago and said they couldn't insure me any longer since I was located on a gravel road. Didn't seem to matter that the road belonged to Lafayette parish.

---And yes the odds play a huge factor and our State run insurer is now realizing that they are in huge trouble if a big one comes----talk about picky in their inspections!!!

Looks like the Conex boxes ( 1 of them, maybe both today) has been taken away! Hopefully they can start to pave the rest of the yard and make it look like someone "lives" there.

i too was one of the "wtf is with the exterior" but holy ____ once you walk inside.

That front photo with the bars can't be the finished product. Surely, there is something that will cover it with a name (Louisiana or Ragin Cajuns) above Athletics Performance Center. There is no reason to leave it looking unfinished like that. If they could raise enough extra money to finish out the interior the way Hud wants, they can raise enough money to finish out the exterior entrance.

If the green space looks like that it will be fantastic. That covered walk-way in front has not been laid out yet. Hell yes on the "Champion Square" where the Cox building is........
