Everything should be moved by the time the team makes it back from Lexington
This site http://www.conferenceusa.com/sports/...011314aae.html says:
Well let's just start with the gross square foot, UL over 100K, LTUR 70K.
Use, UL APC is for our athletes and coaches, LTUR is for those, and deduct sf for suites, and general use by LTUR student body. Notice I did not include any general end zone seating.
Currently the Karl Malone weight room http://www.latechsports.com/facilities/latc-kmwr.html will be doubled in size whatever that is I could not find it.
Additionally they have an athletic department housing some 15K sf which will probably not be destroyed as the Cox center. That still leave over a 15K sf advantage to UL ignoring the non APC use by LTUR for students and suites. IMO 15K will buy lots of worthless brick facade. In reading the master plan for that facility it will also include lots of metal facade.
You asked...
Tech's DAC (Davison Athletic Center)
70,000+ Sqft

Ragin Cajun's APC
65,000 SqFt

Tech removed approximately 3,185 seats at ~$30ea - if we sold out every single home game to Adults it would be just over $573k (3,185*30*6). But lets be honest we rarely had people sit there and they can move down or over a section, so we really won't see any loss of revenue.
We added 302 seats in the DAC that cost $2k each for the season, the section is sold out back in April; and equates to $604k additional income from tickets alone.

Add in that by some miracle we got an ordinance passed that will allow Alcohol sales on campus (right now focus is in the DAC) we should see further income increases.

(ps the minister that opposed the ordinance in the story also wrote a letter that called out ULL and the other Louisiana schools saying Alcohol sales in your stadium has created a party school atmosphere not welcoming to families.)

(pps I think he's full of $#!%, ULL's gameday atmosphere is great, very inviting, and awesome for families)
I said it for years before they did it, selling beer makes it better....people have always and will always drink in football games. You either have people sneaking in hard liquor and downing it and you have no control or you sell them beer, give them bracelets and can monitor people buying it and stop serving inebriated people.
Your UL numbers are obsolete, we are at 100K sf and change. Keep on dreaming.
Again some of that 70K sf is for suites, and general student body not only athletes. Not saying your DAC is not great, it is, just addressing that Gross guy with a little bit of facts.
We have a master plan of redoing the upper deck with lots of suites from the 20 to the 20 yard line, and we too will lose some upper deck seating to be replaced with high value seating. In the mean time we have one end zone improvement of approximately six thousand seats so that the upper deck fans will have a place to sit when it is torn down and replace.d
Tech's retirement home in the endzone is going to look pretty...but it's in the endzone. How much money did they drop so Terry wouldn't have to sit with the plebeians? And you know what they did? They got ULM thinking it was a good idea for Endzone facilities too...even though all they could afford was a corner facility. Sitting in the endzones is about as unprime as one can get.
That's what I say: I truly don't get this whole business of spending all that money....to have your most expensive seats, with the worst view of the field.
But the worst part of their project is when you look at the condition of their home side: besides looking like an outdated high school stadium, their PB is way worse than ours, and that's saying a lot. What is that old saying: putting lipstick on a pig?????
And one has wonder how they will able to afford to do anything else: they have already bamboozled the students into adding a fee, so that is out. But oh yeah: when they get into the B12 they will tons of money. And an hotel....maybe even an airport, lol.
