Yeah, they already framed up the sidewalk along Reinhart Dr. I would think they are will at least pour the sidewalk in between the cox building and the APC now, even it they don't do the over head. Otherwise they will be traversing through mud just to get in and out of the main entrance.

They may not place the covered side walk between the Cox building and the APC until the Cox building is demolished. That will not prevent them from occupying the building.
When will the Cox building be demolished? When will they finish the entrance?

Right now, that is low priority, as it is not on the critical path for occupancy. They need to complete all things necessary for them to occupy in a couple of weeks. That is life safety code, fire alarm, plumbing, mechanical and ADA issues etc. I mentioned in my previous post that they may not have the covered walk done prior to occupancy. I figured some would freak out if it wasn't done. I say, why care, they are occupying the building. After all that's why they built it. The covered walk can happen any time, UNLESS, they have to place the sidewalk if it's considered a means of egress for fire or a necessary handicapped exit. It depends on how they presented the plans to the Fire Marshal and (more importantly) how the Fire Marshal approved it. The Fire Marshal enforces the code and it is not subject to variance. They can and do delay occupancy. They can and do condemn buildings and they can and do levy fines and if necessary arrest and jail. They are an arm of the Department of Corrections, they carry badges, fire arms and hand cuffs. You really don't want to mess with the Fire Marshal. After the owner, the Fire Marshal is the number one guy to satisfy.

Is the entrance finished or will it be finished in the next week or so to match the picture that was posted?

  5. Default APC

I'm a little worried the move into the APC will distract players and at the start of the season.

I wish this had been finished a month ago.

---Was by there a couple of days ago---the brick columns look great---should have taken a photo and maybe Java woman could have put it on here!!! Just looking at the IPF, you can see the brick that surrounds it---think with the landscaping and signage and some brick enhancements that this thing will really be a very top quality looking outside to go with the fabulous inside area!!!

Sigh. The entrance is not finished cosmetically. THE NUMBER ONE ISSUE RIGHT NOW IS TO GET THE BUILDING TO OCCUPANCY STANDARDS!!!!! That is, to satisfy all life safety issues. The only thing about the entrance that is on that list right now is meeting fire and ADA egress standards. The skin on the entrance CAN BE DONE ANY TIME AFTER OCCUPANCY. I am sure it is part of the contract and the contract will not be closed out until it is done. They didn't spend 14 million dollars on a building to look at it, they spent 14 million dollars on the building TO USE THE DAMN THING. NUMBER ONE GOAL RIGHT NOW IS OCCUPANCY. The fire marshal and any other safety or building inspector really doesn't care how the building looks they just are concerned that all the codes are met.

OH YEAH I NEED TO MENTION THIS, THE NUMBER ONE ISSUE RIGHT NOW IS OCCUPANCY.

The move in date for the Track & Field complex is Sep 21st. As of right now they just have to wrap up some painting and other minor interior finishes.
