Plans certainly change between initial concept and final design build. That could be why some of the numbers are conflicting. I also understood they might not build to visitors locker room as a stand-alone facility next to the tunnel, rather incorporating it within the APC.
MelRock?? Did this come up during your recent tour of the new APC?

LOL: I was thinking more like a Prof. DoLittle. Trying to educate us on something we already knew and that he didn't. Not to mention posting all those pics of floor plans and renderings of projects.....like we haven't seen them before.

But I guess it made the poor little fella feel important for a while....gotta get boring flipping those burgers for a living.

It will serve as a 24/7 commercial as to what direction the athletic department is heading. Since only about 2 to 4 percent of all the people who see that building will see the outside only, I would think you would want it to be impressive from the curb appeal point of view as well. That's only if you want to impress the masses and not just the very small % that go inside on a daily basis. I like to think big the more people who like what they see the more inclined they will be to support.

I am of the opinion (that will never change) metal buildings look more like shops or warehouses as some previous post mentioned. Metal cheapens the whole curb appeal point of view. I realize it is not finished but for someone who passes on Cajun Dome Blvd on a regular bases that's shaping up to be one ugly structure. But again that's just me and metal.
It prettier than the solid brick building sitting in front of it. Do I wish it was something different on the outside? Probably but my checkbook can't change that...Can any of yours? I'm certainly gonna wait until it's finished before I say what I think it looks like. Use the inside to get the players that make you a top program and you will be able to afford to make the outside look however you want. See that's the problem, some of you would rather look good and lose instead of look bad and win.

I have never seen a consistent winner look bad.

I have never seen a brick exterior make winners play different... Nor have I read brick attracts better recruits than metal. Our uniforms don't matter to the recruits but the exterior of the first class facility does? Never watched white men can't jump apparently either. Also that was my point, win and nobody will care what the outside of our building is covered with.

Thank you for saying that. Because we cannot forget that we are NOT the university that can afford a $85 million lazy river. (Although our lazy river would be cheaper, since they have three initials and we would only need two.)

So as has been said here before, it's better to get the interior right than to try to make a 'pretty' exterior. And it's Hud and other coaches & staff and students that we should worry most about 'impressing,' and since they seem to be really crazy about it, that works for me. Hud has also said this will go a long way in his recruiting efforts.

I guess we will see, this is the first warehouse / APC I am familiar with so I don't have much history to go off of now. Time will tell.

the WWII museum in New orleans has metal facade on some of the main parts of the building, the part you drive by when heading to Lee Circle. I think it looks pretty damn good. its definitely modern, not warehouse

Some people would rather _____ and moan about things than wait until it is complete before making a judgment.

Very true: the WWII museum is a great looking building. I guess people here just don't like modern architecture, or at least don't like it on our campus (re: Fletcher hall.)
