I didn't come to flame, a question was asked about Tech's DAC and how it compared to your APC, I answered it using the only information I can find on your athletics website, http://ragincajuns.com/sports/2013/3...37.aspx?id=576
I thought the 100k came from the ~65k for APC and the ~25k for the Track/Soccer.
What's been added over the 65k shown in the initial drawings to get a >50% increase in square footage? I wouldn't think that little Phase 2 area would add that much.

85k sq was listed here but i know for a fact a slight addition was added
Pretty sure that was the original concept rendering before choosing an architect and final planning. To the best of my knowledge, they have not released the final plans. You may be right that the space combines with the Track complex but I've seen the size of the APF listed in a print article at both 85,000 and 100,000 SqFt. I'm awaiting the final plans to see what they actually decided upon.
Looks like the offices on the second floor is the expanded area, the plans on the athletic website show it going to middle of the entrance structure, but looking
Best I can tell from the background rendering it was expanded to just past the entrance.
Keep an eye out at LaTechSports.com sure the announcement about the Pressbox expansion will be out by the end of the year.
Since when does 65 + 25 = 100? Oh at LA Tech it does, where math is complex and counting people in the stands can only be done by people at NASA.
You are partially correct. It will definitely serve as a recruiting tool for athletes. That structure will also be the signature building for the whole athletic department as of the date of its completion. It will serve as a 24/7 commercial as to what direction the athletic department is heading. Since only about 2 to 4 percent of all the people who see that building will see the outside only, I would think you would want it to be impressive from the curb appeal point of view as well. That's only if you want to impress the masses and not just the very small % that go inside on a daily basis. I like to think big the more people who like what they see the more inclined they will be to support.
I am of the opinion (that will never change) metal buildings look more like shops or warehouses as some previous post mentioned. Metal cheapens the whole curb appeal point of view. I realize it is not finished but for someone who passes on Cajun Dome Blvd on a regular bases that's shaping up to be one ugly structure. But again that's just me and metal.
