You right Helmut. Just drove by and I can see that it's up to date...That so called elevator tower is being bricked as I type. Looking good......It's almost completely bricked. They are working fast.

They are starting to place roof panels on this morning. They are starting at the far end and working loser to the camera. They have not reached the cricket yet as of 10:45 A.M. this morning.
-----Helmut do you realize the education you have given us in construction over the years???? That along with the rising Mississippi River posts have surely given us an added boost of knowledge!!! Thanks!!!
Lots of work on the roof today. Looks like they have the roof panels on up to the cricket and maybe on the cricket too. (can't tell because it's on the side away from the camera) Once they get past the cricket they should make steady progress. Roof and wall panels need to be placed accurately because on a big building like this once the seam lines get out of whack then it just magnifies as you work your way to through.
I'm thinking they want to get as much done before the Friday - Saturday rains they are predicting.
Helmut, do you think the roof could be completely covered prior to Friday? Can any slowdown occur due to water damage if the Roof does not get installed prior to rain?
Boomer, do you think with all the education Helmut has given us, we could have an honorary Degree from UL engineering?
Not a chance it will be done by Friday as today is the last good day for a while. Currently, they are working under the second floor deck and I doubt they would have anything there that would be affected by rain. They need the roof on so that can start second floor partitions. Once the roof is on and they can finish erecting the red steel and skin the building. After that there won't be much we can see with the web cam as almost all of the work will be inside.
Track construction update:
I went by yesterday and spoke to someone who could understand my interest and explain what was going on. The current tower is actually one of two. They are constructing another one on the South College side that will bookend the press box and office areas of the complex and will also house the elevator & stairwell. If I understood correctly, this area between the two "towers" will extend to the bleachers and overlook them in the area where the old press box was located. The area underneath this area will house the ticketing, gift shop, and concession areas. I'd also imagine public bathrooms would also be in this area unless they are part of the two athletic sections. From Reinhardt Drive looking at the new construction, the soccer and women's track section will be to the left of the tower section and will house locker rooms and treatment/taping areas. The right side of the towers will be for men's track. Both of these "wings" will be single story buildings. Additionally, there will be a walkway in between the bleachers and these buildings. Hope I've explained it coherently, and hope I understood it correctly. It was definitely in English this time.
This is fairly accurate. One exception. The left wing will be women's soccer locker room and the public restrooms, along with a training room and laundry room. The right wing will be men's and women's track, along with a team lounge.
And in case anyone was wondering. Coaches offices will be on the 2nd floor between the pressbox and Reinhardt. 5 total track offices and 3 total soccer offices. 1st floor between the towers will be as Amos described it.
