Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns football team will look to move to 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday as they travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to take on Western Kentucky.
Game time is set for 6 p.m., at WKU's L.T. Smith Stadium.

Louisiana (3-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) is coming off a come-from-behind win over North Texas as a touchdown pass from Chris Masson to Marlin Miller on third-and-goal with 27 seconds remaining helped cap off UL's 38-34 win. It was the Cajuns' second fourth quarter comeback victory of the season (recovered from a 15-14 deficit to Kansas State Sept. 12).

Western Kentucky (0-5, 0-1 Sun Belt) is coming off its first SBC football game, a 37-20 loss to Florida International last Saturday in Bowling Green.

This is the first meeting in Bowling Green in the all-time series, but the schools have met in Lafayette twice in the '90's. UL won 17-14 on Sept. 26, 1992 and 38-24 on Nov. 21, 1998.

The Cajuns can even their all-time SBC record (currently 26-27), while head coach Rickey Bustle (24-23) looks to go two games over .500 in conference play for the first time ever. UL has started 2-0 in SBC just once, going 4-0 last season before finishing second in the standings at 5-2.

The win over NT moved the Cajuns to 3-0 at home for the second straight season and third time overall under Bustle. The Cajuns started 3-0 at home only three times form 1981-2003.

Louisiana has eight interceptions this season, putting them on pace for 19. UL hasn't had a team collect double figures in interception since 2003. That team included four players who would eventually sign NFL contracts (C.C. Brown, Antwain Spann, Wendall Williams and Michael Adams).

The coaching staff announced their weekly award winners from the North Texas game on Monday. Undrea Sails was named the Offensive Player of the Game after posting 18 carries for 93 yards against the Mean Green. It was Sails' second-highest yardage output of the season.

On defense, Dwight Bentley, who had two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, joined Maurice Rolle, Jr. and Derreck Dean as Defensive Players of the Game. Rolle was the team's second-leading tackler vs. North Texas with 10 (nine solo).

The Special Forces Players of the Game were Richie Falgout and Andrew Joseph. Falgout blocked a punt, which Joseph picked up and ran in for a touchdown that upped the Cajuns lead to 24-10 in the second quarter.

The scout team players of the week included Joe Jackson on offense and the tandem of Xavier Youman and Nick Barnfield on defense.

The Thumper award for biggest hit on offense went to Ladarius Green, Luke Aubrey and Undrea Sails. On defense, Hall Davis, Maurice Rolle and Terrell Richardson earned the Hammer award for biggest hit on defense.
