Maybe we need to step back and ask this question. If you are not a UL alum, what is so compelling that would cause you to attend a UL football game or any UL athletic event for that matter? These guys opted for a more compelling game as the media has advertised the entire week. Our game proved to be more exciting, but LSU got the ink, national attention, local curiosity and UL got the finger, by its own community. Perhaps it is time for the UL administration to stop and take a hard look at how UL is perceived and how to change that perception.

You have got to be kidding. The whole country was interested in the LSU game. It was 2 Top5 teams with an injured Heisman Trophy QB. Everyone wanted to know if Tebow was going to play. That game was an easy sell.

Take a deep breath and enjoy the win. If we win next week we will have a good crowd for HC. If we win there and take a few on the road our late season game with Troy will be packed. If we get a bowl bid, a huge amount of fans will go to the game. The DA has nothing to do with our attendance.

The football attendance gods were good to us with the Southern game and were really bad with K State and N Texas ---Lsu playing in BR and on TV and our being on TV kills us at the gate!!!!

Josh, I'm beginning to appreciate journalism again, thanks to you. Calling it like you see it. Further, printing an article that calls people out takes some guts. Those calling for change at the Advertiser should recognize that Josh had the freedom to print the article. Sometimes freedom of speech only goes as far as your boss.

I can't complain about attendance because I'm part of the problem. I'm out here in Texas and it just isn't feasible right now. I will attend homecoming, but that will probably be it for the season. I have dreams of an RV and season tickets that should pan out in a couple of years. My family loves the idea (it might be more their idea than mine). Until then, my contributions will have to do.

Second, it is not JP's duty to tell "fans" to attend. If you are an alumnus of UL you have a duty to attend and support your Alma Mater, not some other University in or out of the state. That includes leaving your tailgating spot, and walking over to the stadium to sit, and cheer for our team. _
Till the end. Drumming up interst isn't telling anyone. i have no problem with Josh I have a problem with his boss.

I drove from Fl stopped in BR picked up one guy and brought him to the game, talked another student into attending while tailgating. Stop complaining and start making the change; complain all you want, but that will not put people in the stands.

Again, the blame game directed at everyone but those responsible.

I don't consider out of town alums who live several hours away or those that have young kids and the resulting family obligations part of the problem. Those are not the "fans" I think most of us are referring to. Its the locals and the alums in BR who fail to attend UL events but will go to State events.

You need to do a better job picking friends, up to and including the clown who scheduled a wedding on game day.

Call me Boomer. I'm in the book. I'll give them to some of your customers.

    See you at Homecoming.

If we can finally get a decent day, weather-wise, it shouldn't be a problem. That having been said, it sucks that only DIE-HARD fans will attend games when a single drop of rain hits the ground within 8 hours of kickoff. I also tend to believe the other night was a bit unique in that the lsua&mc@br/Florida game was the biggest game of the day and you have too many people, like my boss, that will forego ANYTHING else just to watch that game.
