Can you tell me if the advertiser will run stuff the whole week of homecoming? I'm looking forward (crossing my fingers) to a 4-2 team coming home looking for their 5th win of the season. If its built up as a big game... maybe more fans will come.

The plan is to run a main football story every day, just like every other week during football season. We had been doing a football notebook every day too, but some of those will now be other UL stories (basketball, baseball, etc.) in some cases. Regardless, I'll be writing at least two Cajun athletic stories daily (a total of about 1,200-1,400 words) - more coverage than available anywhere else.

Are you Bunch24 as well? I guess you don't get the use of analogy... it is used to reference a more easily understood parallel... not to be taken literally. If the argument for what the DA prints and writes is "because it sells"... my analogy is dead nuts on.

I like your writing Josh. But, I don't value your opinion on UL, outside of current UL sports reporting. You don't know the history, aren't offended by the cut-downs, and don't care.

_ Again, we have little to do with the online format. That's handed down from Gannett. And our stories are put online by people in Monroe. Many times the order in which stories are placed is done wrong. That's out of our hands. Nothing we can do about it.

Also keep in mind that in this case these are complaints about getting something for FREE online. Again something out of our hands. Plus, part of the reason newspapers aren't all charging for content is because too many readers refuse to pay for it. Declining ad revenue and the inability to make up for that online (and giving away the product online for free for too long) is killing the industry. Again not our fault. But we're still here.

These are some of the obstacles we have no control over. Just things to consider. _

Are all of the online folks, i.e. online editor, in monroe? If so that might explain the lack of action on complaints about some of the ridiculous "comments" made regarding the stories and why some of those clowns are still allowed to post such garbage.

I don't care what you think of me and whether you value my opinion. I'm sure many in the world don't care about yours. I don't gain my self-worth that way. I also don't value nor appreciate your condescending attitude. It mirrors the same that you loathe coming from others. How ironic.

Yo Josh, good job. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I see a gameday page for each team as well as a gameday page for high school. The only way to make them happy is to have a complete different section for UL and another section for everything else.

I wonder if the paper would be open to a series of letters to the editor from a variety of alumni that are telling about the "good-old-times."
Maybe the letters would renew a passion in some people that have become distracted with "real" life. Maybe just a spark will encourage someone to slow down and enjoy a weekend in the swamp.

Or an interview like the "Where are they now" section in the high school part. That's a pretty good idea. If only we had a UL sports historian who could write up some pieces for the paper, like the guy (Bradshaw?) who now writes for the Teche News. I only buy that paper for the arrest report and his article.
