However, you base your opinion because McGuire stepped in for a part of ONE series. Yes, he ran the ball hard for a grand total of 14 yards and didn't even average 4 yards per carry and he should be the starter? He didn't attempt one pass and was removed on passing downs. That tells me something. You are saying that our starter should be removed because he had a poor game and the backup came in and was responsible for 14 total yards! Did the running game improve when McGuire entered the game? Yes, however I think that would be les of a factor if he was named the starter. Don't forget, it was Masson who engineered the game winning drive and made the plays when they needed to be made.

Masson had at least 5 drops by his receivers. That would have given him a 18-29 stat line and at least 30-50 more yards. He threw a TD and ran for a TD. The lack of offense, to me, is not on him but the lack of adjustments that are being made by the coaching staff. He has played well all year considering the competition and has looked worse because of his receiving corps. Think what you will. If you are simply looking at stat lines, there's not a lot that I can say that will change your minds so have at it. _
The fantasy football era has made people think that you can simply look at a stat line and see how good someone is doing. Wouldn't Masson's stat line look great if the drops that were made against lsu were caught? Are how about Bently dropping the INT against lsu, wouldn't his stat line look better? Stats can tell you a story but definitely not the whole story and anyone who is basing their opinion off of that or the fact that Mcguire played well against Ark State last year, when he had the best RB in school history grinding out yards for him and the biggest catches made by a SR (Derek Smith), are missing a lot of what Masson supporters are seeing. Mcguire is a very capable QB and I think if anything happens to Masson he will do a good job for us but like Zeph I do not think it is time to make the change.
