The good news is we won. We did not fold. We did not lose at the end. We played AWFUL and were able to win. This is a good thing. In the past I feel we would have lost this type of game.

Brad McGuire anyone? I think its time for him to get a shot at the starting job. Or at least give him a couple of more series to see if he can win the job back..

Not so fast. You can obviously see that the coaches had no confidence in trying to pass with Brad which is scary. They used him exactly like Florida used Tebow his freshman year. You knew everytime he was in the game that the team was running. He definitely gave us a huge shot in the arm and moved the offense but everything was done on the ground. He did not attempt one pass attempt. I loved what he did and I have no problem with putting him in at times but it seems that the coaches don't feel comfortable with his passing game right now.

I agree. Mason just isn't cutting it. Although I still give Mason props on that last drive.

like they have confidence in Masson passing?? just cause they didnt let McGuire pass doesnt mean they dont have confidence in him. He passed it just fine against Arkansas State last year.

it is time for more McGuire definately.

Masson has been 13/29 for the past 3 games now and less than 200 yards. And against an average North Texas Defense is not good.

They do have more confidence with Masson. Don't reference a game for which McGuire played last year and only passed well on the last drive. Also, he looked shaky at best in the spring which is why he is not the starter right now. It's always vogue to holler for the backup when your starter struggles but Masson is ahead of McGuire right now...Period. He definitely gave us a boost but I think you'd see the same results if he was starting to be honest. Also, you forget that Masson did NOT turn the ball over and he has consistently been plagued by his receivers dropping passes which also kills momentum.

If the coaches were so confident in Brad throwing the ball, why did they take him out when it was time to move the ball in the air and on the final drive?

sorry if im mistaken but i could of swore masson is just as good as his 3 scrimmage games showed. TD's even with INTs.... regardless of competition, and he has under thrown or over thrown the ball repeatedly to open recievers against North Texas. Considering you havent seen McGuire throw the ball in a game situation yet, how can you judge McGuire's throwing ability if the last time you saw him was in the preseason?
