lsu can hire all the coaches it wants that does not translate into developing players. lsu's recruiting class has, in the past 3-4 years, had the ability to win a national championship, however; there isn't any player development. It's no wonder why players, after entering the nfl, blow up. They have the raw talent but lsu can not develop them plain and simple.
And that begins and ends with the head coach. That's why I legitimately love the fact that Les Miles is their coach and they won't be firing him anytime soon. I love it even more that he lost the best X and O coach he has ever had in Chavis and gained an out of touch DC with a Swamp People character as his D Line coach. There recruiting classes will be epic...and so will their failures. Les Miles needs to stay in Baton Rouge until the day he dies. Tiger fans deserve him.
Hawk I had posted on here one time about my buddy who coaches with the Seahawks and how when Carroll was at USC he said that BEBE was the best DL coach he had ever seen at any level---was surprised that he had never been a DC after all these years---There was a story back when he was at Tenn and somebody asked where BEBE was at visiting a high school---lifting weights in a PE class and trying to recruit the whole school to Tenn---His first college to attend was LSU and then I think with BOBE at N'Western!!!
D-line is about athletes and effort, if you recruit monsters and motivate them to have a non-stop motor, your job is almost done.
Oh my buddy if you only knew about subtle alignments, stance, techniques, rushing, double teams, stunts, filling gaps, not getting trapped, dropping into coverage, watching for screens, other spy uses, and never said that the great athlete didn't but help almost all of the above mentioned, but there is a bunch that goes into playing it!!!
I'm not saying there isn't, but if you are lazy and take 2 of every 3 plays off... Does any of that matter? Or if you are 5"11 265 and slow as molasses. The guys he gets are most likely stronger and faster than most if the guys across from him, if he merely motivates them, they win majority of the battles with just being better. He isn't coaching up hidden gems boomer, he is coaching 1st round nfl talents. My point was he doesn't really need to be an X's and O's genius.
the day after coach O gets to LSUA&M@BR an NCAA investigation will began most likely.. poor guy brings the bad luck
