UL spent its bye week trying to get healthy and working on fundamentals in practice after a tough non-conference schedule that left the team ready for a break.
The opportunity to rest up and refocus came at a perfect time. Now the Ragin’ Cajuns (2-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) are healthier and ready to end a two-game losing streak going into their conference opener Saturday night against North Texas (1-3, 0-1) at Cajun Field.
“The first four games are behind us,” Bustle said. “We came out of it 2-2, and that’s a great position to be in. We’ve moved on to North Texas. I’m excited about getting some new faces back into the lineup and getting some guys healed up.”
UL definitely needed to regroup following a 55-0 loss at No. 23 Nebraska on Sept. 26. It was the team’s second consecutive loss — there was also a 31-3 road defeat to No. 4 LSU — after opening the season with wins over Southern and Kansas State.
