Lady Cajuns Tennis hosts UL Invite Fri-Sun

  University of Louisiana Lady Cajuns tennis will host the UL Invitational at Ragin' Cajun courts this Friday-Sunday.

Participating teams include North Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Central Arkansas, Southeastern Louisiana, Middle Tennessee, UNO and Northwestern State.

UL coach Tina Samara said she expects all of UL's players to participate.

The schedule for the tournament is not set in stone as the weather will affect how many matches are played in a single day.

The Cajuns are coming off a trip to Colorado in which Audrey Wooland made it to the quarterfinals of her bracket. UL won 10 matches in all, including doubles matches.

Fortunately the LaTech and Troy games are back-to-back midweek games, and fall at the right time. I look to take advantage of my only free weekend to attend any UL sporting events this season.

Thank you for keeping up with the Ragin Cajuns. However, Audrey Wooland won the draw in Colorado. Tomorrow 4 out of the 7 girls are playing the finals at the Cajun Courts. Julie Mazinova is playing the final of Draw A, Mia gordon is playing the final of Draw C, Briggitt Marcovich and Julie Mazinova are playing the doubles final of draw A and Mia gordon and Audrey Wooland are playing the doubles final of draw B. Singles start at 9:00 am and doubles final are right after. Come and support our girls!

Tough losses today at Red's, but everyone played hard and finished well. It was an excellent weekend for Cajun tennis. You all did the university proud. Thank you.

Audrey and Mia were actually in the Semi finals of the flight A doubles draw, unfortunately, on Sat. Audrey had two very tough matches and due to cramps had to pull out of the doubles draw but again great job to all the ladies this weekend
