Another key was Shawn playing well after he got 3 fouls. A couple of times he let GSU have the basket after we were beaten which was the right thing to do. He also kept his composure which was encouraging as he can be emotional at times. I was worried about that as he and the team had been telling folks since summer this was the one game they wanted. They were not happy about losing to them at home last year. That may have been part of the problem early. They may have been too hyped up. Having someone who has been through the Big 12 wars like Brian Williams was also critical.
Brian Williams is the best showcase of leading by example. He's got a confidence about him that is cool calm and collected and I love it and I think it's rubbing off on some other guys
Neither can he. After two replacements, he doesn't move all that well. And, he lives out of state.
And, he's almost 60
Gotcha. But, someone needs do it... We need to educate the younger generation. The crowd would go wild if the CHICKEN walked out there...
Don't know if Cajun Chicken is trademarked, but would be nice if he passed the torch to someone else. Hold a contest, maybe make it a student.
YES!!!!!
The school should buy his props.... The snorkels, the Elvis costume, the Spy kit, the Michael Jackson wig, the red and white towel, the "D" and the fence, etc......but if nothing else, get someone to BANG. THAT. DRUM.
Lessons or coaching would be great.....but I know enough people that watched him long enough that could pull it off.
This should happen before 01/17!
Before I type this, let me say I admire the cheerleaders and Ragin Jazz being at the game while school was out. But....
Around 4 minutes left in the game, when the crowd started going back and forth with Ragin! Cajun!, my bride asked a very good question, "where's the cheerleaders?" We chanted with the crowd, and watched the cheerleaders join the chant.
Emotion of the crowd took that on, a true sixth man showing.
Guys, it's never been about the outfit or the props. It's always been about the guy in the outfit.
He was one of a kind. No one could ever duplicate what he did. If you bring back the outfit and the props you have some amateur in a suit wishing he was the Fabulous Cajun Chicken.
