College football has been fertile ground for future NFL head coaches. Just look at the recent NFL success of former college head coaches Pete Carroll (coming off a Super Bowl-winning season with the Seattle Seahawks), Jim Harbaugh (coming off a third consecutive appearance in the NFC Championship Game with the San Francisco 49ers) and Chip Kelly (coming off an NFC East title in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles).

Keeping our cornerbacks 8 yards off the ball on every down and playing Cover Zero is Hud's call...and is the definition of micromanaging. Hopefully The 2nd half of the Troy game and the Bowl game is Hud not micromanaging.

I really don't think hud is a good X's & o's coach. His motivational skills & our superior talent compared to the other sunbelt schools make up for that. If he trusted his staff more Im positive we would have that big win Against a P5 school

Or maybe we are all wrong and he trusts them too much.

2 DC's and we still run a _____ 3-2-6 with soft zone.... its all HUD! i rather give up the big play then have a team a team drive the length of the field with short passes

------And YES FINALLY the correct answer---WDK---we don't know because we weren't in the offices studying video of the coaches and past places that they have been to show what defenses worked, the meetings with coaches from other schools, the hundred of years of experience in discussions, the ability of the older players and the new freshmen that played, the MATCHUPS and what their strengths were, and the gut feelings and seeing those long td throws when you got your ___ beaten with man coverage-----not saying I wouldn't have tried some other schemes but I and YOU don't know!!!

Boom...after two DC's with similar results...the problem is not with the coordinators...it's with the Head Coach.

This defense can work today IF and only if you create turnovers and have a great offense. The players have to make plays as well.

HUD on more than one occasion was pretty clear, publicly that this was willis' defense. I was one that has said it must have been HUD but the fact is, none of us really know. Doesn't really matter as long as it's fixed going forward. Coaches are on the same team, it's ok to learn from each other. Just simply pointing out none if us know, you can scream about what it looks like, or what you think but you don't know. Alabama got burned all season by the same scheme that everyone is 100% sure is hud's...just saying.

As of right now we don't have the talent to run that style of D.. Alabama is one of the only programs that can run this effectively
