Louisiana Tennis Adds Stavropoulos To Roster

Men's tennis head coach Mark Jeffrey recently announced the addition of Dimitris Stavropoulos to the Spring 2015 roster for the defending Sun Belt champion Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

Wow what an addition to our nationally ranked team.

To give you an idea of the quality of player this is, last season Will Huyton came in as a Freshman and went 4-1 as a part time player at the #6 position on the team also going 4-3 in doubles throughout the year. He was a top 600 Junior in the ITF rankings. This young man comes in with a ranking nearly 300 spots higher than Huyton. Obviously it is yet to be seen how this translates to the college game, but this is a huge addition to an already solid team.

This young man has played in a few ATP Futures events, including nearly beating a top 700 ATP tour team in doubles. Losing 12-10 in a third set breaker.

I would presume like Huyton last year, you will see some work for this young man vs some of the matches we are expected to win early in the year and based on results, he could crack the top 6 during the season.

I am excited to see how our NCAA team from last season rebounds after a solid offseason.
