2 more wins a year perhaps 3 if coupled with the lagniappe game at the end of the year and before long UL's coffers will tripple.
UL just needs to figure the fast track to those 2 extra wins so the program can make some real money.

If UL ever wants to beat a top notch BCS team it will have to happen at home.
My numbers may be totally skewed but here is my starting point on how we get a top-notch BCS team into The Swamp. Go there 2 for 1 and pay them $1 million dollars for their game here.
To do that and make $1 mil for itself UL needs to pack in 36,000 and make $55 a head counting tickets, concessions, tailgating, parking, and paraphernalia sales and what else.
What do these BCS schools normally make for a home and home with another BCS school? I have read $3 million or $1.5 mil per game on average after trading games.
If UL goes there for 2 games and gets its $1 mil a game, the other school made $4 million, then when they come here the other school makes a million that is $5 mil or an average of $1.66 mil a game. That's more than they would average for a heads up tradeoff.
All UL needs to do to accomplish the feat is put $200,000 a year into a special account and every 5 years UL's prestige would go up.
That is my prestige starting point . . . let's adjust.
I don't think you would have a problem putting 36K+ in the stands with a top BCS team coming in here. Have them come in for the third home game after a 2-0 start and you would have to turn them away at the gates......
You guys do know that Oklahoma State is coming to the swamp next year.
however, we play georgia and ohio away before coming home to play okie st. we need to do this on a year when we can craft the schedule to do such a thing. also, with rcaf we shouldn't really have to do that much work with the putting aside of money and take it away from the athletic dept. funds.
Right, but we likely want be 2-0 with Georgia & Ohio on the road with Oklahoma State coming in. That was my point, playing a top BCS with the Cajuns having a 2-0 record....They will be standing on roof tops, (Cajun Dome) and using the fence like a dear stand to watch the game......
UGA= loss away in athens, ga. Ohio is a different story however. i think going in 1-1 into a home game against Okie St. wouldn't be that bad, especially if we are coming off of a big upset win against Ohio. I'd like to think that the way Okie St. is playing now is indicative of how they will play next year however that probably won't be the case. they could play like crap one game and then run up the score the next. i think playing games against UH, USF, ECU, and teams like that are the kinds of games we should play. these teams generally make top 25 appearances at once every year or are darn close to it. play teams like that and play them well or beat them and we start pulling the 3 star recruits that they would normally get. just my opinion though
