You are missing the point. I have a job with some pretty hefty frustrations right now. It pays better than market and I have to support my family. If I wanted to change right now, I would have to take a substantial paycut to do it so I deal with the frustrations. I'm just suggesting that a sunbelt position coach and a successful attorney who happens to coach softball are very different situations.

Again, a strawman argument. How much they are paid in base salary has no bearing on whether or not the admin keeps their word to them.

and you are wrong, a promise is a promise. if an agreement was made, the agreement should be upheld to all parties. You or your buddy dont get to decide what promises are kept based on someones other career or financial situatuion. You are so blindly loyal it makes you look like an idiot. what if your boss decided to keep yoour performance bonus because your family left you real estate when they passed? i bet you would be pretty ____ed.

And if that is the situation, I fully understand walking away. I do not think it's the case is all. I am simply asking if these guys have the luxury of just walking away and stating that Lotief's situation is much different.

I'm not defending Farmer on this one bud. I'm simply asking if a sunbelt position coach has the luxury of walking away at the drop of a hat?

you think these coaches cant get other jobs? and again, what does that have to do with paying someone what you agreed to pay them? You dont think word gets around in the coaching world? You think coaches will want to come to work for someone who constantly breaks promises? They will walk away at the drop of a hat, hopefully not right in the middle of the season, but what loyalty would they owe us if they keep getting lied to?

Again, that has nothing to do with the point at hand. We appear to be losing almost an entire defensive staff for various reasons but one contributing factor which caused Gramblings from the assistants weeks ago was the unfulfilled promises from the AD / admin. Couple that with the similar Lotief situation and it could affect our ability to attract and keep good coaches.

So was the initial report wrong in that they were let go?
