But do coaches care if the AD gets a raise while the same AD renegs on certain Bowl expenses being paid? Recall CajunT's recent comments about certain Bowl expenses that had been paid in the past and promised but not being paid this year.

Right now it's all speculation. But that scenerio sounds much like what triggered the Mike Lotief resignation.

And fans are supposed to send their money in and just trust the AD?

Well we need our "journalists" to do their Frickin jobs and get answers.

I think it is just pretty simple, 1) First coach leaves because of undisclosed personal reasons, 2) Rebowe leaves to be Head Coach at Nichols, 3) Another assistant sees opportunity to move up by also going to Nichols under Rebowe 4) Ex Texas Tech is moving on for Much more money Edwards kid leaving due to his uncle, probably why he came to UL in the first place. Edwards was let go, the others made moves on their own sounds like.

We had the highest paid assistants in the Belt, I think we will do just fine attracting what Coach Hud and Willis need to strengthen our Defense! Don't panic gents Louisiana will be better off in long run, with the best money in the belt and the new construction taking place, new assistants may bring players they were recruiting, and we may retain or lose some of those recruits our old assistants were on, who knows!

So you know the heart of the issue, but not how they exited?

Mike Lotief is a head coach with plenty of resources to support himself after coaching. Do you really think sunbelt position coaches have that same luxury?

What does their ability to support themselves outside of coaching have to do with a pattern of unfulfilled promises by the administration that seems to be developing? If anything their lack of that luxury makes the promised compensation / reimbursement all the more important to them.

Do we not pay our coaches the highest in the belt?

So much truth in this statement. If you read any books written (co-written) by cosches, typcially their first several years in the business is a new stop every year.

If they were promised something, give it to them. End of discussion. Our coaches abilities to produce financially outside of coaching is nobody's business but their own.

You are missing the point. I have a job with some pretty hefty frustrations right now. It pays better than market and I have to support my family. If I wanted to change right now, I would have to take a substantial paycut to do it so I deal with the frustrations. I'm just suggesting that a sunbelt position coach and a successful attorney who happens to coach softball are very different situations.
