Not that I would know about this, but...will the recent change in the opportunity to purchase beer at the games have an effect on the number of students that attend the games? I guess it will take several home games before one can tell if the attendance will increase because of this change.
I honestly can't see how. If people need alcohol to go to a game, then their priorities are already screwed up. Second, there is plenty of booze outside at tailgating available to them at any time in the game for which they are allowed to enter and exit freely. Last, you can always smuggle some in like myself It's not hard and it works well when I don't want beer especially come winter.
If you read all the posts on this thread, you can see that there is a core group of followers who want to just stick with things as they are, and have been for a very long time now.
Then there is the growing fan base that says, this way in not working, a position that i have to agree with. I am not going to go in to all the positives
that a more winnable schedule would offer, I'll let you figure that out, besides,
when i do , my posts are deleated or altered.
I'll just say this, since the two blowout losses, we have lost an awfull lot of
momentum as far as fan interest. Yes, Conference play offers a fresh start,
and early success will help bring back the excitement. But if we keep ending
up with 500 seasons, we will Never , Ever generate the support we all want.
So, we keep doing it this way, or Try a Winning approach for a change.
I vote for a Winner !
I think the tone Bustle set when he ran the clock out against LSU when we were moving the ball is what has some of us po'd. I don't think they strive for mediocrity though, we just don't have the talent to compete with the big boys.
I just don't see a fire lit under Bustle and I think we need some cocky, young, fiesty coach that will kick some butt and get things moving.
