I agree with you, but as eluded to in your post, some fans need to get out of the mindset that the journey is complete and mission is accomplished if we go to a bowl game this year. A bowl bid earns us a ticket on the bus...

You may need to occaisionally excuse my lack of historical reference as I am not from Lafayette and have been a UL fan for less than 2 years. Much of the history and such is lost on me, or at best, subject to my ability to empathize with posters such as yourself.

However, I see nothing at all wrong with knowing where SUCCESS is located on the map if we are trying to eventually get there :-)

I understand. You have located Wonderland on the map. That is good. You would like to reach this destination. That is good. All of UL, bleeding hearts and all, have fairytale endings to their Cinderella dreams. There is but one path. It is not hidden. Others take it all of the time. We must also take that path.

    Agreed...

Wisdom in your words there is, earn success UL must. Together pieces must come, so order there is. Chosen step by step the path must be, avoid the Darkside we must...

My point exactly. There aren't a lot of teams in college football that don't need them to supplement their budgets. However, Cincy can go around and win them also. They are in a BCS conference and of course are a part of the large conference payouts for bowl games and such which is a win-win.

The big thing for bottom feeders in BCS conferences [especially the two of most concern to us, the SEC and the BigXII] is that built in $10,000,000 + budget bump every year from their conference for post-season play in the bowls and the dance. The only way to match that is to have an EXTRA $200,000,000 in endowed funds over and above the necessary $200,000,000 + we need to get our budget up to very low BCS level.

At that point, we don't have to play money games. Anybody got that lying aroud to give to the school?

It's raining here...I think I will go ahead and blame the coach for that, too. Why, not! Yesterday, at church the preacher went on and on about how Coach Bustle couldn't pack the pews on that rainy Sunday morning...
But Saturday was BEAUTIFUL weather...I looked up to the sky and said, "Thank you Coach....!" I don't think so...

I sense some sarcasm... but I just never know with some of these fans.
