_ Guys, guys. These past two games were money games. We were underdogged by plus 20 in each game. Lets rewind to after the Kstate game. Because to me these two games are a necessary evil. Money games are a dirty part of NCAA sports but we have to deal with it. Money games usually end the way ours did. I think we did well against LSU, and I think Bustle kinda shelved the playbook and wanted to get to 000 on the clock against Nebraska without anyone really hurt. The real season begins on Oct. 10th. We need 5 more wins to be a bowl team. A healthy defense, and a well oiled offense I think we can get there. North Texas looks beatable. FIU looks beatable. We get FAU at home we can beat them. ULM is at home we can beat them. Troy is not who they were last year and we get em at home. Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee are pretty good but our D is good so I think we have a chance. 2-2 in Non conference is honestly better than a bunch of us thought we would be. So lets get our panties unbunched, and rally behing this team for North Texas. Stuff your worries about us losing to two ranked teams by alot in the trash. Sun Belt play is our season. _

I understand the reality of your statements about this being a money game, the talent we faced etc, but we looked terrible out there. Its not about who we played but how we played. Our defense is already getting banged up and our offense is far from a well oiled machine. Overall, our D has played very well but they are on the field to long and are gassed early in the third. The offense is killing itself with turnovers and failure to execute resulting in too many three and outs. The talent of the opposition doesn't have much to do with WR dropping passes that are hitting them in the hands. While some of the fumbles are the result of hard hits and efforts to strip the ball I find our players ball protection and the way they carry it much worse than the past few years (maybe losing Coach Jenkins is the reason for this?). I went into this game being a realist and while I wanted a win I knew that was going to be a tall order but I at least expected us to execute and compete. We did neither.

I hope the team can regroup with this off week, get healthy and get their heads back into the game and make a run in conference.

I agree. I will start judging Bustle and the status of the program with conference play. He gave us a great win versus a BCS school. If we can win the conference I say give him another contract. If not it is time to look else where.

I totally disagree...LSU fans cry about not winning by enough, while we UL fans are f-ing ____ed when we get 50+ hung on us.

The preseason is over!!
That's all these four games were. If you would have told me before the season that we'd be 2-2, I would have been very pleased. Nobody likes to get blown out. The coaches might have mailed this game in but believe me the players on the field were doing the best they could.
If I had to guess, the teams goals are to win a conference championship and go to a bowl game. If I'm not mistaken, we have an excellent shot at doing both. The real season starts Oct. 10th. Have your butts in the stadium and support your team!!

crazy, i woke up this morning and we are 2-2 a third through the season, and havent scored a td in two and a half games. hopefully the offense wakes up like you did. anyone who thinks we will have 30k in the stadium the same weekend as LSU/florida in baton rouge is crazy. i will be at cajun field just as i was in lincoln last night watching first hand how bad we looked. hopefully we can go on a run in the belt and finish above .500 which is not what i want (i want more) but for not is all i can expect from this team

Well for me the preseason is over.

To get ready for the regular season we played what many considered 3-periors and 1-neath. Stricly W-L UL came out on top.

Now we play 8-quals, then time to judge.

ps CajunRed with the LSU indoctrination that exists from birth in Louisiana most UL fans are converts (at least I am) some habits die hard.
